Well I was taking a low dose already and the idea is to try a higher one if it doesn't work?

I just want an off switch that doesn't give me cancer, really.

Yeah, if you're on a low dose and it's not alleviating your symptoms you can definitely go higher. I'm a BC-evangelizer since it CHANGED MY LIFE due to my previous really severe menses.
