I'm amused by the spat of Pokemon/Real world stories cropping up and I'm going out of my way to try to have my first chapter hit most of the standard things - detailed description of real world (character's surroundings/personal life/random rants on people who angered the author), mention of l33t gameboy coolness (beat game a few hundred times/have L100s/perfect pokedex/list of shiny pokemon/team specialness), and, of course, the something-weird-happens-with-gameboy thing. It's not a parody, but, well, I just really like the idea of setting it up along the standard lines, then modifying it so it actually works. (I think the trick is to write it, go on as many tangents as you want, then edit with the use of the backspace key. Come to think of it, that's the trick with a lot of other stories too.)

Anyway, you'll see what I mean. Or not, if I get it wrong and it's just the same as always. It should be up soon. See how I handle it and insult me mercilessly offer reasoned critiques if my attempt isn't a fix of normal problems but just more of the same.
