NaNoWriMo

So my laptop has been rendered a paperweight due to the power cord breaking and my not having a sharp enough knife to cut it open (this is probably for the best, really).

I tend to see the word count of NaNo as the main point, so I'd already written the opening to the story I intended to do...safely stored away on the laptop.

My idea of posting a story during NaNo will have to wait a few days.

Of course, since sane priorities are for crazy people, I'll start typing the next segment anyway, rather than do real work.

Snap delenda est.

Hmm, that's Latin at the end there, isn't it? Are you studying Latin? I've always wanted to, but my college doesn't offer it and I'm too lazy to learn by myself.

I took Latin in high school. My teacher would tell us all kinds of stories, and the phrase is from that. Snap must be destroyed!

(Rome was rivals with Carthage, and one senator really, really hated Carthage and wanted it gone so he would end everything he said - everything - with Carthage must be destroyed. "So in conclusion, we should lower the taxes on in the southwest this season. Carthage must be destroyed." And then they destroyed Carthage. I think the point he was making was about tense, but I was busy thinking about how I suddenly wanted to become a senator just to do that. Awesome.)

I'm thinking about doing a NaNo, but chances are I'm going to forget about the story I started and it'll be December before I know it. Ah school.

Really, you can do the -nowrimo part whenever.

Or do what I do, just write whatever rather than a single story.
