So that'll be NaNo, then.

I've almost filled my current notebook, and haven't typed more than a handful of pages.

Also, getting steadily more embroiled in Left Behind. Every time I think it can't get worse, it does. The stuff Slacktivist has about the first book barely touches the psychopathy of the later ones. The phone obsession is just an odd quirk. The recurring abusive treatment of anyone subordinate or who they have any power at all over, not so much.

Yes, but the phone obsession is easier to laugh at.

Oh, that can switch to horrifyingly too, though usually in combination with something else. (The bit where Chloe is trying to beg Tsion to kill her son if the GC arrive and he keeps deflecting her by saying they won't be found, until her father takes the phone from her and carries on a leisurely conversation with Tsion.)

You start reading, and the books are disturbing, but then they become so impossibly disturbed that's it becomes surreal and then funny, but then you keep going and it starts getting fucked up again, only to keep going to the point it's so absurd you have to laugh, only to suddenly get so disturbing again. It's an endless flip between a reverse funny aneurysm (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ReverseFunnyAneurysm) and a funny aneurysm (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FunnyAneurysmMoment), only which it is at a given moment is just determined by how long you think about it.

Isn't it against the "rules" to start nano before november?

My version of NaNo is to get 50,000 words typed in a month, period, so I usually combine writing new stuff with typing up older chunks of my notebook. It's not like I need a push to start writing a new story, while getting done stuff I'm already halfway into is more of a problem.
