Stuff

So, exams are over. I wish we had them more often...and that they counted for more of my grade. That'd be great.

We're looking into getting a corgi puppy. I'm not really in favor of purebreds usually (high strung inbred monstrosities) and would be perfectly willing to get a mutt, at least in theory, but I've never had a dog, so I want something where I have a reasonable idea of what I'm getting into, and I need something small and manageable, that will not attack animals, especially smaller ones (I was originally considering getting a beagle...thank god for research), and won't be too high maintenance, as well as something that my anxiety-prone brother can reasonably deal with. So I figured it was better to pick a purebred dog that wouldn't have the risk of having hunting-dog blood in it.

(Plus, the dog on Cowboy Bebop is a corgi. Not that this in any way affects my decision.)

Anyway, I've still be getting no sleep because I have. I really don't know. When I'm this tired, I get easily distracted, and it takes me forever to do anything. Vicious cycle.

The praying mantis still isn't dead. She's laid another egg case, and she's quite perky. At this rate, she may actually stay alive long enough for the new males to hatch, mature, and get their heads bitten off by her during the mating.

I got a nicely critical-ish review for Ice by someone who sadly chose to remain anonymous. They mostly prodded my screwy use of commas. I'm going to have to go over it carefully since the sentence structure isn't meant to be standard, making it hard to tell what's an unnecessary mistake. This will have to wait until I'm rested, because right now complex thought is a bit beyond me.

I'm going to go review the two stories I was asked to, think about going to sleep, be distracted by something shiny, and wind up going to sleep very late.

Oh - and I've actually written quite a few pages of Ice in my notebook, but unfortunately, nothing that has to do with the current chapter. I am getting a better idea of how my version of Team Rocket would function, though, and I'm starting to develop their personal manner of speech. (For example, in part to prevent excessive swearing and in part because it's just fitting, the insulting adjective is 'useless'. Which in the context is a lot harsher than it may sound by itself...well, you'll see, assuming I ever finish the chapter I'm on.)

That dog in Cowboy Bebop is cute. It clearly should affect your decision.
