Finally...

The praying mantis is dead. There's a nagging little voice in my head that says Mom'll get another one the moment it gets warm, though...

*plays taps* How long was that thing alive?

I have no idea. We've had her for about five months, and she was full-grown at the start.

"The moment it gets warm..." Nice.

=[ Silly thing.

Stupid question of the night.

So, did you slip her pesticides, or was this whole thing purely due to natural causes (or "natural causes," if you prefer)?

Actually, we did an absurd lot of things to keep her alive. I was taking off the lid and making sure to spray her underside so she got water directly in her mouth, and my dad actually picked her up and applied water directly shortly before she finally died. In my family, once you've got an animal, you have to keep it alive.
