I wish I could draw

Land of Tea and Paper
Queen of Heart

Land of Zephyr and Bone

Land of Juxtaposition and Windows
Page of Depth

Land of Chains and Dirt
Sage of Rage

Land of Festivities and Ultraviolence
Sylph of Bliss

Land of Prisms and Rot
Host of Death

Land of Obsidian and Lakes

Land of Sulfur and Glass

Land of Illusion and Insanity

The consorts of your land are ARROGANT TRANSLUCENT VELOCIRAPTORS who like PHILOSOPHY.

The consorts of your land are TIMID GOLD CROCODILES who like STORIES.

The consorts of your land are HELPFUL INDIGO SQUIDS who like FRIENDSHIP.

I really like "Tea and Paper".

[identity profile] farla.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds so interesting!

[identity profile] learntwocook.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It does. It sounds like it would be some kind of aristocratic Victorian-like world.

The HELPFUL INDIGO SQUIDS who like FRIENDSHIP sound unbearably cute. Or possibly terrifying, what with the similarity to squiddles...

[identity profile] ember-reignited.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Again: cf. squiddles.

Still thinking about doing more carapace reviews on the weekends?

[identity profile] farla.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, although maybe not this weekend. I'll have to see.

Okay, technically the squid is yellow and the purple ones are both nautiluses, but still!

That generator is so addictive. I think I lost solid days of last summer to it and its consequences.

[identity profile] farla.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Every now and then someone links it and there go the next few hours.

[identity profile] learntwocook.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh wow, "dreams" is one of the aspects in that generator? That sounds like an awesome aspect to have in the Homestuck universe. Maybe you should have it be one of the crocodillians' aspects?

[identity profile] learntwocook.livejournal.com 2011-11-05 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh wow now I'm just using it to see all the titles and aspects. "Thief of Self" sounds like a really bizarre one. XD

I notice that "Toil" is a possible aspect, though. I thought that titles and aspects had to be monosyllabic? All the ones we see in canon are, anyway. Ah well.

[identity profile] wonsab.livejournal.com 2011-11-06 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's one of the things that bugs me about the Land Generator — it seems to have been made without that particular quirk in mind. Nepeta's LOLCAT is literally the only canon Land that doesn't fit the pattern, and all the titles we've seen fit the pattern.

"Toil," though, still works; note that "Seer" is definitively canon despite a similar weirdness of syllable count. Likewise, only the first aspect of a Land seems to be monosyllabic — again, Nepeta notwithstanding.

[identity profile] farla.livejournal.com 2011-11-06 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
I have enough trouble figuring out the canonical ones without dipping into fan additions.

[identity profile] learntwocook.livejournal.com 2011-11-06 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
But the nice thing about using fan additions is that you can make up whatever interpretation you want without worrying about conflicting canon!

[identity profile] ember-reignited.livejournal.com 2011-11-06 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, you can still get jossed if one of the canon aspects turns out to do what you've declared a fanon aspect does.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-09 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that's might be resolved by simply going in and applying liberal amounts of Orwellian editing to change the name of the fanon aspect to the canon aspect.

[identity profile] farla.livejournal.com 2011-11-12 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm more concerned by the fact the aspects seem to be saying things about how the gameworld works. We don't even understand those yet. Adding more on top doesn't seem like a good idea.

[identity profile] farla.livejournal.com 2011-11-12 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I already decided that the gameworld won't be identical anyway.
