I need to stop reading US News and World Report

I flipped open one of the magazines and wound up reading the same line three times in the hopes I'd misunderstood.

"Second, that markets work and that lower taxes and less onerous government produce more economic growth than the alternative. About 43 million jobs have been created in the United States since December 1980, while the number in the more statist nations of western Europe is on the order of 4 million."

Butbutbut, what about the Thatcher/Reaganism crash in the eighties? And even then, the US has a higher population than western european countries--*head explodes*

You're talking as if you're sane or something. And there was no crash, because America is perfect. Don't make us invade you.

We're trying to cancel our subscription because we don't like paying them money and it depresses me horribly (you should have seen the article about Walmart...), but unfortunately, a friend bought it for us and we haven't been able to convince the company to stop it because of this.

I'll be good. o.o Hey, we elected the conservatives this time, that's got to count for something.

Yeah, we have that problem with People magazine--my grandma always buys us a subscription, but my mom hasn't liked it since it got all trashy, and we don't have the heart to tell grandma to cut it out. :x

Yes, but are your conservatives trying to actively implode your government as they should? Are you spending fifteen percent of your government budget on interest? Are you torturing random people you rounded up? I think not! For shame.
