Huh

It seems I'm angrier at my English teacher than I thought. I just turned an open-ended essay about my core values into a cheerily worded dissertation on why I value the ability to think, with a large portion devoted to talking about how important it is not to do certain things as well as a very direct yet passive-aggressive snipe involving cogito ergo sum as a particular example.

You should step in to *my* English class. It gives 'falling in line to agree with what teacher thinks' a new meaning. For 55 minutes evry day, I get to listen to this girl talk about what someone else thinks, and they cleverly disguise it as if it were her own. Then someone-- myself, most recently-- shuts her down with one sentence, and we all laugh because she has to little of her own opinion left to defend herself, and everyone finds her annoying anyway except the other people who do the same thing.

::sigh:: Actually, I do think I'd rather have your English class. People being idiots is one thing, but being completely surrounded by them makes you doubt your own sanity. That, and the reality retcons my teacher keeps throwing in.
