Loveless

I finally managed to dig up the sixth volume of Loveless with translations. It's awesome, especially Misaki's characterization, which only gets more and more wonderful as time goes on, and Soubi is Soubi and very cool.

Also, Loveless doubles as a way to use information to punish people for bothering me.

"What are you giggling about?"
"Oh, it's this manga about this cute little sixth grader. Lookit, he has kitty ears! See his mom is nuts because some trauma happened to him that caused him to lose his memories, so she says he's not her son and hates him for taking away her real son and is really abusive, so he's always covered in bandages. His dad ignored the whole thing and then left, and the only one who took care of him was his older bother, whose corpse was then found in his elementary school, by him, sitting in his seat, burned to death. At first his mom wasn't too abusive, just drawing blood when he let her hug him and trying to stab him with forks and stuff, but by the fifth volume she's trying to drown him, screaming at him to leave. And then..."

Wow. Just wow. Maybe Loveless is worth the money... hm... or should I save my money for Fruits Basket....?

Oh, that's not even the main story, which is more about Ritsuka and Soubi, the twenty-three year old who hangs out in front of his elementary school waiting for him, is obsessed/in love with him because Ritsuka's brother told him to be, uses language...interestingly, and generally manages to be more fucked in the head that Ritsuka. Poor, poor awesome Soubi.

Get the scans - Tokyopop did some random line changes and mistranslated an important grammatical point in the first book, and I don't know about the second. You can download vol 1-5 as a pack.

And the art is pure distilled prettiness.

So... where am I getting this download? O.O

You can get one through five at http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3420306 as a torrent. That's the easiest way to download it.

Ah- it's a torrent! Noooooooo!

It's not that bad. Besides, at least with a torrent you won't need to worry about losing the download halfway through.

Yay. Just finished reading one to five. You had me thinking it was going to be more thoroughly violent than it was... ^.^ Well, you're awesome.
