Spent today mainly dealing with the kittens – feeding, cleaning, amusing, catching.
They are very, very cute. Enough to be forgiven for just about anything.
Incidentally, if any of you ever, for some reason, get new kittens you plan to give away to be someone else's problem, and you don't have litter, do not train them on newspaper. Because I will kill you. The kittens do not like the litterbox at all, and they keep meowing and trying to find paper.
Also, do not give them milk. Again, I will kill you.
Beyond that…we spent today moving stuff around and cleaning up from painting. Or my parents did and I weaseled out by doing more mundane tasks instead.
I also made brownies that came out well. The oven at our last house was tilted, so batter wouldn't cook properly, and it's nice to be able to successfully make something.
My brother refused to help me with brownies. There's something wrong with a kid who would rather read his megaman guidebook for the fifth time than eat brownie batter.
Fed the crayfish copious amounts of lettuce. I have no idea how much to feed her, but her tank water is getting especially slimy, so I think she's got enough. Also fed the fish. My cory is a lot more active, so either he's happy or he's starving.
I also need to clean the little beta's tank. The gravel has collected a lot of debris.
It's getting colder. School will start soon. I'm ambivalent about that. I don't (and never have) looked forward to school, but being at home tends to kill a lot of my writing drive. I need people talking to tune out and being awake at ungodly hours. I also need to be sleepier. Right now, I feel really tired. If I miss a couple more hours of sleep, my brain will start short-circuiting and thinking I'm awake.
I reviewed the story I mentioned a few entries back. It's not sueish, and it isn't the usual great and powerful trainer, but it is the usual nice trainer stuff. You know, she's nice and considerate. It's pretty obvious the author is trying to make her seem nice and do whatever's right. The bits where she talks with the wild pokemon she's catching are almost gag-inducing. ( For example )
The story isn't actually bad though. If nothing else, I like that it's restrained and a bit slower paced than usual. The lack of real plot so far, though, is a problem.
The story is Destination Unknown by Rancid Melody if it sounds interesting to you.
And in a few hours I'll be watching anime. Yayness. The storyline of Gundam Seed is starting to interest me.
