Today, while I walked home, I saw a bee on a flower, the petals of which had fallen to the ground. It had died there. Later I stepped over what looked like the drying skin of a squirrel, passed by the desecrated husk of a dragonfly in a puddle, then flinched as I walked past the body of another squirrel lying belly-up and completely unmarked in the middle of the road as cars roared by. Each one nearly hit it and I kept thinking one would run it over and burst it all over the street while I went by.

Today is not a good day.
