My carrots have sprouted, but not the watermelon, even though watermelon are supposed to sprout in half the time as carrots. Apparently the soil in the pot isn't warm enough yet.

I mentioned I was doing this and someone pointed out the normal plants college students grow in their dorm rooms.

"Oh," I said. "I hadn't even thought of that."

Vampires

So I think it's a mix of thinking of common tropes and writing and stuff like this percolating through my brain for a day or two, but I want to write some sort of vampire fiction where vampires are legitimately monstrous things, and they don't feed by sucking on two little neat holes that somehow allow for adequate blood draining, but by tearing open someone's throat with those fangs.

As with so many things, this is really more of a setting than a plot and so, for the moment, pretty much unwritable.
