I'm honestly pretty agnostic about gun use, I'm okay with the idea they're anywhere from basically irrelevant up to gamebreaker, since I'm okay with a wide variety of interpretations for pokemon power levels and that's what determines it. It's only when there's explicit contradiction within the story or the guns are being used in some real-world fail way, like the whole "we used guns, but wobbuffet would use counter! so we switched to arrows because that makes it so much better". So naturally I hate it all uses of guns in fandom.
