So hey, Lj just added a new feature, and I just checked out entertainment. Second post is

Final Fantasy VII Compilation
Original Game
darkelanor: Forrest Green Wheelchair (Prologue) (Vincent/Yuffie) (NC17)
dev_chieftain: Possession (Cloud/Sephiroth/Zack) (PG13)

queenoftheskies: …
The important thing about the mighty intertubes is filtering. Not simply that you personally filter out things you don't want, but that the internet basically comes pre-filtered. To get from "entertainment" to "NC-17 fanfic with videogame characters" normally takes quite a number of steps for anyone who doesn't know about it. Most of the time, if you aren't the sort of person who's okay with it, you'll be distracted by, say, the other link bringing you to flash games of fighting stick figures ten steps before you reach fanfic of any kind. This doesn't just apply to fanfic - I usually ignore the various communities based around beating children or fantasizing about beating parents for having children or whatever other stuff I don't care about.
Personally, I think this new feature is kind of cool - it's a way of remixing the normally well filtered content that we find through networks of likeminded people, exposing it to the uninitiated. But I think it's kind of cool in the same way I think Fanlib's ongoing fiasco is, or fireworks, which is to say I expect explosions.
Unless this means people start locking more stuff, at which point I will become enraged and violent.
