I don't know. Innocencegate was fail in the sense of "my god, you people are IDIOTS". Russian overlords here have fail in the sense of "aw shit, this is their plan". The first was obviously a bigger single offense, but the second seems more likely to be an accurate representation of their personal five-year-plan.

...dammit. I should really have realized that Russians talking about x-time-plan is a lot like Germans suggesting everyone should get a little symbol identifying their religion. Another tick for the theory they're in Putin's the government's pocket.

The difference being that Germans have gotten better since, and are likely to be the first to oppose any such suggestion. Russians? Not so much.
