NaRe, in sum
Jan. 1st, 2009 01:40 pmI'm done!
So looking over the data, I realized that actually reviewing does seem to equal story hits, since they're about exactly the same as last month, when I was updating a lot. (Of course December could just be a wildcard time regarding the number of readers around.) And I got exactly twice as many profile hits.
So reviewing doesn't work as well (since some of those hits were almost certainly spillover from updating) but is a decent way of generating attention.
I'm going to make up a couple master reviews to point to. First up, the general stuff. It's annoying to keep saying the same thing over and over, and it's even more annoying to have people go "So I noticed your reviewing again, its a cool idea hey could you review my story two?" So now I'm going to point them there first.
Also released my beta reader profile upon the world and set up an area to make review requests, because I kept losing track of the ones people sent me.
Other things - one of the compounding factors of the poll is that when I update a story people start voting for it. Which is totally not how it's supposed to work, people.
Did, eventually, figure out a better version of those legendaries celebrating the holidays fics. The thing is, it's still not actually going to add up to a good story, so I'm not going to write that.
