Remember the Aooo thing? They're added a hit counter, so you can now verify that no one's really reading. I did (somehow) get two hits on Left Alone, which is interesting given that they really didn't seem to want to add in the fandom tag. They'd classed it in literature but left it unsearchable, for some reason. (They were also unimpressed with my ensemble tag and possibly other ones I don't remember, and those have been removed. So yeah, there is absolutely no way to indicate "story involving the canon cast".) Uploaded Tribulations to see if it's just that all the activity is centered on new stories, and now that and Left Alone are at three hits. Also, a second fanfic made them finally add the fandom. Also, for some reason their hits counter automatically counts you uploading/editing your story as a hit, because after the mandatory preview page they then load the story again. That's where Butterfly Wing's lone hit comes from.

They seem to be trying to collect all the Yuletide fics, which is good because the present archive they're on is really hard to use. They're doing this by having the stories show up under the label of Mystery Work with no more information than that they're not yet available, which is less good. I really don't see why they made a bunch of extra coding and special graphic to let things that can't be read and don't even list word count take up a current slot in the archive, something only made worse visually by how large the listings are for each story. It's especially weird given they already have a system in place to let you mark a story so that it only shows up for registered archive members (I can't really figure out why, but it's there) and otherwise is completely invisible, so I'm left to surmise this is a deliberate choice.

Oh, and it turns out that only the five most recent stories will show up on your profile, the rest have to be viewed on a separate page. There does not seem to be any way at all to alter this.

In conclusion, nothing makes sense about the place.

(In FFN related news, they seem to have stopped sending out alerts to me, be it story or forum related. Anyone else still getting them?)

Damn. First LJ and now FFN. Wonder if something about the holidays overloads sites?
