Dad: Hi Fluffles, and how are we today?

Fluffles: OUTSIDE IS COLD!

Dad: Who wants food?

Fluffles: OUTSIDE IS COLD!

Dad: And let's get you some fresh water...

Fluffles: OUTSIDE IS COLD!

Dad: Hay in the nesting box needs to be replaced...There we go.

Fluffles: OUTSIDE IS COLD!

Dad: And some scraps and leftovers for you! Have a pear.

Fluffles: OUTSIDE! COLD!

(Outside is not cold so much as wet, a distinction I fear is lost on Fluffles as she paces about demanding the world remake itself to be more pleasing to her. She can get loud, but it's not the same piercing loud of the rooster. I hadn't realized just how much he was harassing her until we got rid of him and she returned to her normal shouty self.)

Curious, you live in California? I'm asking that question because it's raining where I am now. @_@ Then again, much of the Pacific West is dealing with rainfall: http://www.weather.com/newscenter/stormwatch/

No, it's so cold Dad encased her whole run in plastic. This has made it a nice temperature, but the snow melted and made the area wet. The chicken house is...well ventilated, but because it's so cold the air doesn't hold much moisture, and because it was so snowy there was a lot of water inside the run once it melted, so it's taking a while for the main area to dry. So there's mud on her feet when she paces around the run squawking, and I'm pretty sure she's demanding a return to the dry porch, full of delicious carpeting.

Okay, got it now. Sorry for assuming it's raining where you are. It never snows where I am, so I have never experienced snow melting in my area and wouldn't know how wet it could be if that were to happen (though I should know it wouldn't be a pretty picture -_-).

Oh, it's fine. We also get rain, just not this time of year, except when the weather gets fucked...which has been happening a depressing lot, admittedly.
