Wtf, people
Mar. 30th, 2010 11:14 pmSo. As established, I finished reviewing the newer Exalted stories, meaning those whose authors are still around. They were surprisingly sane! The author of the series-of-linked-stories-story replied, as did the one with the knights.
Then came the author of that bizarre rape-and-lunar-buddies fic.

First: Dragon Blooded do not have an organized ruling body in Nexus. The few who are there have some influence, but they do not rule there as they do in other places.
Second: Lunars are not, nor were they ever 'baby eating demons'. How do I know? I read the Lunar book. If that were Dragon Blooded propaganda, the main character wouldn’t believe it, or would try not to because that is her personality. She likes to form own opinions about others despite popular belief.
Third: When a person is being abused or going through some horrific ordeal to which they feel they cannot defend themselves, they will mentally remove themselves from the experience. Go to a mental 'safe place'. I know this from personal experience.
Fourth: Perception is still an issue with or with out the Wyld Hunt. The Exalted stay hidden for fear of the Wyld Hunt. Despite this, they chance discovery by helping others. If there is a chance the Exalted are discovered, then they hope their good deeds will hold some positive weight in the minds of the mortals and thereby positively influence any action after the mortals discover who the Exalted really are.
Fifth: “The Hunt is a group of battle-hardened Dragon-Blooded gathered both from the Immaculate Order and the Realm military for the express purpose of hunting down Anathema. With the disappearance of the Scarlet Empress, the Wyld Hunt's effectiveness has begun to suffer, as those Dragon-Bloods who would be most effective in the Hunt now choose to stay at home to lend their support to their Great Houses in the contest for the Scarlet Throne.” (source: http://wiki./exalted/index.php?title=Wyld_Hunt)
You do know this is a rough draft, right? And not a final copy? I posted this in hopes that I could get some mature, constructive, and educated feed back from readers. You made maybe one or two comments that are of any use to me.
There was, as it happens, no sign that it was a rough draft beyond that it was terrible, and it was posted midway last year. Though she's changed the summary to reflect this new state of affairs: As this is the first of many rough drafts, this is currently in revision. Read it if you want, but please leave mature, educated not necessarily on the world if you know nothing about it , constructive criticism. No troll drivel. Thanks!
Anyway, so I just reply that if she got two useful comments out of it, then now she has two rather than zero. That's not even snark. She has one other review just saying it was great from, again, last year. It's not like there's awesome concrit being handed out on every corner, the category is dead.
Meanwhile, she reviews Dammerung and says it's good but that she doesn't get the "Dragonblooded propaganda", then returns to say that she hadn't read the whole italicized bit (?!) but now that she has she sees only the first bit is propaganda. So basically, real life IC/OOC issues where she can't stand the idea that fictional people might have stories that cast another group of fictional people in a negative light.
Then, she sends me another message.
I hope you're not a professional editor.
Here's the problem: Most of what you posted was nothing but troll drivel. It was immature and not even close to being professional. I expect criticism, but I expect it to be professional.
Sadly, I could not reply with my standard "if I was professional I would get paid" because she had blocked me from PMing.
To complete the hour's worth of crazy, I get another PM.

No, I don't have any idea. I don't think I want to.
Meanwhile, the poll advances! For a little while it was tied at two for either month. Now it's three for April and a brand new two telling me not to. Interestingly no one has tried to go for "both", perhaps figuring they should only vote for options they think have a chance.
