There isn't a way to do much of *anything* privately on tumblr. You will need a new account.

You can make also make a sideblog! On the right hand side, where it lists your blog's name, there's a drop down list. At the bottom is "Create a new blog". You can pick a url and a name, and create a brand new blog to archive this stuff in. It'll be silently connected to your main blog, and when you reblog something, look up in the right hand side at "Post to [my blog]" and drop down that list to select your sideblog to send your post over there.
