farlaSo my brother's been playing this mining game online. The graphics are crap, the game involves digging down, collecting poorly rendered ores, going back up to refuel every thirty seconds, repeat.
Speaking of those ores, I was watching while he collected some ironium, bronzium, silverium, and goldium. And einsteinium.
Because calling it 'iron' isn't scientific enough, and god forbid we confuse the little kiddies by using the latin name...Did I mention bronze isn't even a naturally occurring metal? It's an alloy!
You don't think any of this matters, do you? I've got a ten year old brother reading over my shoulder who is currently bursting into nervous giggles of shame.
And if you want more evidence this sort of wanton stupidity is causing the players' IQs to drop into the negative territory, I give you a random post from the forum my brother was reading that I happened to see when I walked in and kicked him off five minutes ago.
A suggestion for new minerals in the game:
Mineral: Coal
Value: $40,000
Description: Common on Earth, Rare on Mars. Finding coal on Mars is like finding dinosaur remains on Earth.
