So that post I made a little while ago ended up proving the whole concept of consensus reality. Fucking Orwell getting it right again.

And so, since there's obviously no point (horse, water, drink) let's just do it again and drop the whole thing. That's like it never happened, which is apparently the same thing. Yay.

And so again, since we've established nothing important is happening, I'll move on to things that would be trivial otherwise.

And so, fanfiction.

It's getting to the point where I'm tempted to write a Mewtwo/random creation of Giovanni story. You know the ones that typically involve beating the unbelievably expensive creation with blunt objects, then looking surprised that it doesn't do what they want. I've already written out a parody chapter of that (I'll post tomorrow or so) but it doesn't quite fulfill the wasted potential of that device.

I mean, for one thing, Giovanni's not an idiot, and we've seen how he handled Mewtwo. He'd be cool and manipulative. You could justify abuse if you really wanted to, but not 'Huh, the random cloned thing has just been decanted, let me hand it off to some low ranking rocket with a whipping fetish'. (Why does no one know how whips work? Or that there are better alternatives? Look, I know they're used in movies about American and Egyptian slaves, which is probably the sum of your research, but god, technology has moved on to less damaging and more effective things. I mean, have you guys seen what the military recently - right, doesn't happen, sorry. Still, even barring that there are plenty of options.)

For another, the characters react wrong. They've usually got some sort of noble sentiment that Team Rocket is just evil so they shouldn't obey, they don't display any real trauma, just bitterness, etc.

It's all so ham-handed. Of course, given that the plot of those is usually just 'watch my OC suffer and get revenge on the jerk!' it's not really surprising.

So there's another idea to the pile of stuff-I'm-not-writing, next to the abusive trainer, rival main character, futuristic wild city pokemon, and hybrid story.

On the brighter side, I've mocked two consecutive people accusing me of being unoriginal by invoking Ice's plot description. As cliche plotlines go 'amoral slum girl with bad parent' and 'pokemon becomes real' are the ones I'd rather be dealing with, so I suppose I shouldn't mind so much.
