(Rome was rivals with Carthage, and one senator really, really hated Carthage and wanted it gone so he would end everything he said - everything - with Carthage must be destroyed. "So in conclusion, we should lower the taxes on in the southwest this season. Carthage must be destroyed." And then they destroyed Carthage. I think the point he was making was about tense, but I was busy thinking about how I suddenly wanted to become a senator just to do that. Awesome.)
