So despite my intentions, Wonderland is shaping up to be pretty fucked up.

It's just, Wonderland is a place of rather disturbing imagery. When you run through the game it's not so bad, but if you start looking? The cards are carrying giant axes. The designers actually managed to show the way the axes are sharpened to a razor edge. I'm not kidding. Go play the game. It is lovingly rendered.

So, between that and the fact Sora finds a spirit shard along the way, it's really much darker than I was intended.

Well, Alice in Wonderland is one of Disney's scariest movies (in my opinion.) The Chestine Cat = freaky.

Oh, certainly. The book works because Alice's view of things is as dreamlike as her surroundings, and the mutability of the world makes it clear she's never in real danger. Translating it into a visual work, you're left with a surreal and rather disturbing world with apparently real danger.

The movie, of course, has nothing on this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o-19MnWlUc&feature=related).
