Posted chapter nine of Unoriginality: OT. It's about an author trying to make a character that's not a sue by following advice I've seen in reviews.

Take that as you will.

Also finally got to work on the next chapter of Ice. It involves violence, because violence is fun, especially when it fucks with preconceived notions. I have part of it typed and all of it written, so, unless something comes up as it so undoubtedly will, I think I'll be done by Sunday.

Right, so why are you satrizing, since Unoriginality is satire, someone who is doing something good? I mean, isn't it nice to fix mistakes?

For we all prefer the one inside

Ho hum. I have to say I was irked by the obvious pandering to your own ego in the first couple of lines of the story, and again by the superior sounding introduction. When did fanfiction become lessons in which you laboriously explain exactly what you are making fun of- it rather takes away from the actual point of writing it out comically. The way I always understood was the point of humor or satire was that it was just done rather than the comic go first before the audience to explain exactly what he was going to do. It isn't even as if the overall point in the story is hard to see.
That said you did raise an interesting point- something which more reviewers should take better care with.

Yes violence is very fun- I can think of a couple of those preconceived notions now. The Russians in Beslan now perhaps know that it was a bad idea for their country to go to war. Perhaps 9/11 could be seen as removing the preconceived notion that the west has about terrorists being able to hit them. That man who walked down a dark side street and was violently mugged now perhaps knows that he shouldn't walk down dark alleys.
Preconceived notions aside, that chapter of Ice should be interesting. The first chapter was good and from what you have shown of the future she could be quite an unique character to explore.
