Updated my FFN profile, last updated sometime before FFN instituted the "Last updated" counter. I'm actually rather pleased. I'd wanted to eliminate the Reality Character Sheet from my profile but wasn't sure where else to put it, then realized why else would FFN give me a forum if not so I could make threads for the express purpose of dumping things there? Also added a second poll, this time on which story not to update. I'm planning to reset the main one shortly.

Theoretically, there may be an Unoriginality update later today. Also, I've since uncovered the rest of the story (or most of it) on the random flames I posted about earlier. A more complete post on that should follow.

So, as you may remember, not long ago I posted about getting two flames, investigating, and discovering many people I've never met hate me.

And now I've gotten three people asking me to read their stories, two in the last week.

This is even more suspicious than two flames within a few minutes, so I do what any reasonable person would do - I go redo the google search of FFN's forums.

I do not turn up anything explaining this. I do uncover more on the earlier story, it apparently having finally filtered into google. So yes, someone over on The Domain forum told people to go flame me, as I originally guessed.

Okay, here's where it gets weird.

An attempted reconstruction:

We see Qzil.wrat121 over on a troll thread started on my forum, on August 7th. They mention that they wish I'd reply to reviews more.

Next, Qzil.wrat121 comments over on The Domain about a forum they should go "bother", offering Complain About Farla, on August 9th.

I should mention here that, as I said in the comments last time, I have not been doing much of anything on the site for months. Qzil.wrat121, a search of my reviews tells me, has been a rather forgettable reviewer of mine.

Jump forward to September 24th, when Qzil.wrat121 abruptly posts in a thread on The Domain, saying Grr. Why do people love Farla so much? She sucks. By way of explanation, they go on to indicate I'm a big name in the fandom in their next post. Next page someone asks if they ever flamed the person Qzil.wrat121 mentioned, and one of the two speaks up to say they and their friend did. A third person speaks up offering to join in, but they don't seem to have ever actually flamed me. This makes me sad, because their profile indicates they are an absolute asshole and the idea my fanfic didn't get a flame from them is deeply insulting.

The next day, while going my original google search to try to figure out what was going on, I come across the troll thread and realize it's had replies. I respond to Qzil.wrat121, who suggests I thank people for reviews, then apologizes for their own not being very good.

If you do not see the part where I upset Qzil.wrat121 during the timeline, causing them to demand random people flame me, well, neither do I. It's possible another check next month will turn up the rest of the tale. On the brighter side I finally figured out what the Ice reviewer was talking about by "rape the use of pronouns, and the English language, daily" (I use pronouns with speech tags, not names.) and inadvertently found an actual review from the Inheritors reviewer, rather than the meaningless "I hate everything you write and you suck" thing the reviewer gave me. Also, on the same page I discover that Qzil.wrat121 is really really really bothered by the fact I didn't reply to their reviews. Working theory is that's what set them off.

In addition someone who is apparently Qzil.wrat121's side account says Ice is my only decent story. Which is only further confusing in the context of their having reviewed a chunk of them positively. And not having reviewed Ice at all.

In conclusion, fandom is crazy. And I still don't know why people are emailing me.
