farlaMy computer has a new adapter and it didn't cost me a hundred dollars! Now I can go back to gleefully wasting time on it.
I'm sick right now. It's irritating. I actually don't mind being sick that much, since I tend to use it to catch up on my sleep, but this is just a very mild sore throat. It doesn't even hurt on its own, I just have to constantly drink water or it'll start to be a problem. Mmm...water. I was kind of dehydrated before, so it works out okay. But still, if I have to be sick I want like the flu or something.
I've been playing 358/2 Days, which from now on will be referred to as DS KH because that's easier. I like DS KH, but it really should have been a playstation game. It has long, unpausable cutscenes, so if you're playing it you have to sit down somewhere you won't be interrupted. And, presumably for space reasons, they can't give the cutscene people any facial expression. That's handled by the little face icons that go by their dialogue, like in CoM. Except that they've still got their default expression on their face in the cutscene, so you have the icon saying they're got their eyes closed while the head that's on their body (which is doing all sorts of poses) still has the same wide-eyed flat expression. See, this sort of thing worked in CoM because they were just tiny little pixel guys. You couldn't see their faces, just their more obvious posture. But when you can see their face, it's hard to overlay that with what you're told their expression should be.
It's especially bad with Axel, who's got a 0_0 expression all the time even while the icon box informs me his actual emotional state is running from carelessly angry with an edge of snark to carelessly snarky with an edge of anger, with occasional stop offs at carelessly screwing with Roxas. This is particularly problematic given Axel's whole thing is that he's really expressive and expansive all the time. And sometimes the icon box will have the same bland expression (Xion's been bad like this) so you get out of the habit of checking...
I suppose it's one of those things where there has to be some failing for the technology to advance.
Anyway. The poll is looking pretty balanced right now, ignoring Unoriginality. I generally do. So I'll bite the bullet and get back to PR. I want to put a new poll in place (add some new choices, change it to Unoriginality in general, remove Emerald Perspectives and Butterfly Wings for the time being...), but I feel bad about resetting the poll if I haven't followed most of the votes. Not that this has stopped me, but still. While I'm doing that I'll ponder Ice's chapters and if I want to just start posting what I've got or not.
