Chapter: 20. Proactive Retaliation
From: Daniel 'Chiryu' Ernston ( http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1598741/ )

"At any rate, I assure you it is, in fact, possible to point out insanely
obvious problems without needing to write it yourself."
Except that some of the problems you point out aren't insanely obvious. Take
the example of the starter getting his/her Pokemon from Professor NameOfTree.
It's not obvious that that's a problem, it's just that it's an "overdone
cliché" that is accepted as a standard introduction. Where's the problem if
it's not thirty chapters long like you seem to exaggerate it as?
Not to mention, you actually admit that you are disparaging other people's
works. The way in which you word this admission does not make you seem like
you have any experience. It only makes you look more like an arrogant elitist,
and in turn, fewer people are sympathetic toward your cause.
"[...] It's probably for the best that this story makes you feel inferior and
like you can't write a good OT fic, as you've just demonstrated you are, and
can't."
And yet you're mocking much more than just one cliché. It's only when you
follow twenty of them straight that there's a problem. You can't possibly be
I should know about many of your examples - I'm a victim to them myself when
writing stories. (Just look at "Generation 2021" - it uses at least six of the
examples you've posted since about a year ago.) But that's no reason to hate
on the person who writes the story, as you seem to do in the above quote.
Please don't give me any crap about "The serious writers will listen to this
and learn from it, and the harshness only increases the strength of the
lesson." The serious writers have some humility, which you seem to lack almost
as much as the stories you are disparaging lack quality.
Your examples are excellent, and your exploitation of the various OT stories'
clichés may be hilarious, but your message will be lost in the crowd if you
don't wisen up on the words. If you seriously plan on helping anyone, you need
to soften your tongue, and swallow some of that nearly-physically-visible
pride.
Like I said once before: if you don't give a damn, you can ignore all the
above.

Okay, that took a turn for the crazy.

As for Act's comment on DP...urgh. Even though I'm friends with him now, yeah his reaction to Lucki is a bit much. He takes his fic seriously, even with my reviews (and I'm very nice in my reviews most of the time). :/
