The kudos button is slowly driving me mad.

I never really understood what people meant when they complained about getting ":) write more!" reviews AND NOW I DO.

In theory it is people who would not have left a review at all but in practice I'm sure it's mostly people doing it instead of reviewing. It is not a review. It's like favoriting something. My ego is already validated, I want to read human words.

Haven't really gotten any kudos in Ao3 because I only posted one work of mine so far, but the favoriting thing over at FFnet does annoy me. I don't mind the favoriting, but a short review along with it would be nice, even if it's as simple as "This is very nicely written" or "Great work!"

Yeah, but at least you usually get reviews too over on FFN. I don't mind someone favoriting that much when three other people have already said "Great!" But on AooO people leave kudos on stuff that has no reviews. I've got a fic with eight kudos and no comments, another one with one comment and fourteen kudos.
