Ah, man. They do, but I haven't seen one in such a long time. (Then again, I haven't been on FFNet for awhile either other than briefly.) Point us to one, Farla? (At least I'm a masochist. =D)

Eh. There's a special super charmander (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2895500/1/) one, one where an underage trainer gets a pokemon because she saves Elm (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2896317/1/), a story where Birch gives random girls who show up a choice of nine starters and a bunch of items (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2878801/2/), one where Bill just happens to send an eevee right after Elm runs out of starters (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2897365/1/)...

A lot of variation, but all annoying.
