Warlorn-chan rambles
Sep. 3rd, 2006 04:42 pmSo two weeks ago I reposted the first chapter of Pokemon Revolution, also known as The Story Warlorn-chan Liked To Obsess About.
Warlorn-chan reviewed with a long complaint about OOC actions in much later chapters, including general spoilers and a major plot twist for near the end of the story. I promptly deleted it and told him that I'd be willing to discuss these things and offered to edit things if possible, but that he needs to email me if they involve major spoilers.
He responds with a long email to say that he doesn't think editing is possible, and that he's too scared to talk to me because I traumatized him the last dozen times (go me!).
I give a short reply saying asking why he reviewed if he's so determined to avoid a discussion, and also asking if I could assume, given he was so against a discussion, that he'd be similarly willing to avoid further spoiler-ridden reviews.
I get back a page long email detailing everything he thought was wrong, primarily regarding Ash but with some other complaints thrown in there.
I reply, asking him to clarify a few things and remind him that he's really got to explain why rather than just decreeing it, and that a lot of his points seem to be rather fuzzy interpretations.
He replies with (for once!) a brief email, where he says that he could discuss, but doesn't want to.
Then sends a tl;dr of hisdemands complaints regarding the story, culminating in a tangent about how he thinks Ash should have joined Eon, but realized it was wrong, then they all escape to Hoenn. You can't make this stuff up.
I roll my eyes, change the subject line to Re: why do you want to argue with me??? I don't understand!!!! mommy why is the girl being so mean to me????? and tell him that it was amusing, but it's getting old. I offer again to discuss things or for him to at least shut up, and if he doesn't, I'm going to wind up posting all this in my livejournal.
He replies by explaining that he intended for me to forward all his points to Charles Rocketboy and discuss them while reposting the story.
I explain that unfortunately, he still needs to actually explain those points first rather than decreeing them as true, and give specifics about what he thought was wrong, preferably with alternatives he'd like better.
(I should add here that he's been responding almost immediately to every email I've sent.)
He responds a paragraph explaining how he 'doesn't have time' because he is oh-so-busy. A long paragraph with much extraneous information.
Thusly ends the Saga of Warlorn-chan (until the next chapter is posted).
Also, my new 'I'm busy with school' policy of reviewing is that I'm only going to review people who I like or who foolishly try to review whore. I like to think the second half of my policy will help make the world a better place. As poor little Pokemon Writer can tell you.

Date: 2006-09-05 07:21 pm (UTC)There really isn't any way to shut him up. He's been stalking me/my stories since I was about twelve (and has yet to win an argument regarding them...sad). My stories are different from the sorts of stories he likes reading, at least in terms of topics/general views, so he badgers me to write what he wants. To simplify things a bit.
