Yeah, I've seen the dedications. I wish they would stop, honestly. I remember when the first couple stories were dedicated. They were by *good* authors, they were actually inspired instead of just copying, and I was happy to see them. Now...The worst so far was when a new author read a series of short stories, then wrote up the same sort of thing as poems, all crammed with misspellings. Even the line about it being dedicated to me was misspelled. And they were incredibly derivative, to the point of her lifting phrases and themes.
I know, I look for the decent fanfic. But even when I find something that's decently written, there are always, always plot and characterization problems, often to the point where I don't actually like the story. Another story I'm currently following and think is very well done in nearly every way has grammar problems.
