Been inching along - I've been spending my time running around raising berries, trying to make my buneary love me.

(That name itches with lost potential. Dune! Bune/dune. Buneary should be some sort of desert rabbit rather than yet another generic normal type.)

Anyway, so I'm around L20 now. I raised up a budew pretty far before finding out it's a preevolution of a 3rd gen pokemon and promptly dumping it. When the revolution comes, the guy who thought preevolutions were a great idea is first against the wall.

I never saw the point of baby pokemon, the only one I've seen that was of any use was Wynaut, and that was because it gave Wobbuffet some new moves... mainly encore.
Other than that, what real purpose do they serve is what I'd like to know.

Yeah. Second-gen they were a nice novelty that was actually plausible because it was the first time you could breed pokemon, and there were only a handful.

Third gen? Pokedex filler. I mean seriously, they are a weaker version of an existing pokemon. They could have just as easily added moves to Wobbuffet's movepool. Fourth gen? Ugly pokedex filler.

Well, I need that hideous thing for pokedex credit. I'm just trying to avoid raising any of the old pokemon and focusing on new ones, so I was annoyed that I'd been raising a new one that'll evolve into one I already know.
