So the Supreme Court just ruled that the bit about separation between church and state is really just one long misunderstanding, and it turns out the government really can give tax money to religious organizations or pretty much anything else they damn well feel like.
As you'd expect, this is headline article news at the New York Times, by which I mean buried in a related article about the Supreme Court's ruling on campaign ads, the actual important parts of which (whee, corporations can buy ads again! Because they have rights exactly like people, but even more. Goddamn human rights amendment, see what you've done!?) are themselves buried inside the vague legalese of the article. And buried under all that is a reference to a third ruling about student free speech, which is not even talked about further. (Students, you see, are like people but not quite and so don't deserve as many rights as real humans, let alone corporations) It's awesome being liberal and controlling the media. This is totally the kind of thing that reflects my attitudes in every conceivable way.
