So my brother's playing a new game of KH2, and right now he's on the Roxas opening, otherwise known as the "GODDAMMIT HOW DO I FIND THE ELOPE COMMAND?" section of the game. Fucking Japanese and their linear storylines.

At any rate, this means I have been offering my advice on how to play ever since the first battle scene with the dusk.

"Stop attacking!" I shout.

"I have to! It's going to kill me!"

"You shouldn't be attacking! You should've just gone with it!"

"But it attacks first!"

"STOP WITH YOUR EXCUSES AND GO WITH THE DUSK!"

"I can't, it's not a game option! It's trying to kill me."

"No, it's trying to abduct you and take you to Organization XIII. STOP STRUGGLING."

"I'll lose the game!"

"Oh, so that makes it okay? 'I'll lose the game'. 'I have no choice'. 'The game script doesn't allow Roxas to go back to Organization XIII'."

"It doesn't!"

"So that makes it okay to kill Axel? Just so you can play some dumb game? You jerk."

"But - I - the game -"

"You better not kill Axel when he shows up."

"But I don't have any choice!"

"Why do you hate freedom?" I demand.

Oh, Farla, you strike again against those who try to curtail free will. Yeah, I understand. KH1 never bothered me, but KH2 a clearly a story about Axel and Roxas where you can't change anything, even if it's all stupid choices and you'd have done it all differently if you were in control, which you're supposed to be.

I suppose, so exists fanfiction, because canon sucks, but has so much potential.

Why do you hate freedom? Thank you. That just made my day.
