Chapter Twenty-One, HOW TO GIVE YOUR STUPID BRAT TRAINER AN EEVEE, of Unoriginality OT is now up.

One of the recurring criticisms I get is that I just tell people what's wrong rather than how they could fix it. I've always taken this to mean people don't like my suggestions on how they could fix it.

I always have mixed feelings whenever I click on your FF.net links. When I say 'mixed', I mean two things: 1) I rather like the way you write AND what you choose to write about, but 2) the logical part of my brain always tends to cry tears of blood after reading some of the nonsensical reviews you get.

For the life of me, I have absolutely no clue why everyone loves Eevee (and their Eeveelutions) so darned much, OR why most every (bad) OT 'fic gives them out as starters. I have to say, this chapter cracked me up, especially the first and second examples. For some reason, the third example amused me beyond description- now I just want to see someone write a 'fic chronicling the misadventures of some unfortunate, struggling trainer who blew all of his/her starting money on an Eevee and has to deal with the consequences.

It'd probably end up being a very short and possibly sadistic story, but hey.

Though come to think of it, I haven't been reading much Pokemon fanfiction since D/P. I should check and see how many original characters are whoring out starting out with either Leafeon and Glaceon... which would be problematic. It seems like they can only be evolved in two known places in the Pokemon world, both of them in Sinnoh (which in itself seems horribly unrealistic, at least to me).

Once a pokemon gets to a certain degree of popularity, it starts to feed on itself - the more a pokemon shows up in other stories, the more familiar it is to a writer who then makes it show up in their story, and the more gushing descriptions of how cute/pretty/noble it is, the more people converted to liking it, who then write gushing descriptions of how cute/pretty/noble it is.

Oh, silly person. As if they would wait for the games to come out before writing about the OMG new eevee evos!!!
