Oh, I'm sure they would (my classmates believe cougars are easily scared away when they are a) not and b)react with violent death in the unlikely event they are scared) but there is a sad, sad lack of cougars in the area.
My classmates' children, though, are screwed. So there will be some indirect darwin awards handed out twenty years from now.
