So apparently the average fanlib denizen lacks self-preservation skills.

Here's the story. Try to pinpoint when a mistake is made.

A fanlib member decides to post an essay written over a year ago on fanlib, a fanfic site.

They promptly get a bitchy review that, without going into detail, makes it clear the reviewer hated the essay, by all appearances on technical merit.

They reply asking what's wrong with the essay. Yes, they admit, the words were all smushed together to the point it was barely readable, but that happened when they uploaded it to fanlib and surely they can't be held accountable for that.

The bitchy reviewer writes a paragraph in which she tears apart their first paragraph of the essay as terribly written, then stops and says she doesn't want to deal with more of this.

They reply by saying she's harsh, then asking if the bitchy reviewer who is bitching at them over their writing ability has read any of their other stories.

The bitchy reviewer points out that if she didn't like the essay, she probably doesn't like their stories.

They continue to hint that really, she should read their stories.

She continues to hint that really, she would probably not like their stories and would review them harshly in the event she read them.

They do not take this hint, so the bitchy reviewer explains directly that her review will likely be harsh and bitchy, as bad or worse as her comment on the essay that they found "harsh", that it is extremely unlikely she will find their story good, and that in all likelihood she will shred their story unless it is practically flawless.

No really, they insist. Review my story.

It should be pointed out here that their story involves vampires, high school, and a tragic subplot revolving around the fact they apparently can't hit the enter key to create paragraphs.

What the hell is wrong with people?

She asked for it.

Are you by chance the "bitchy reviewer?" Because it could totally be you.
