:D It is a fic, and it is on Serebii, and it is called Inheritors. I'm not sure if the title is okay or the same as typical Serebii pretentiousness, but it is just one word rather than five and some miscellaneous punctuation.

Aww, I thought you were doing this one seriously and it was just the other one that was to be posted primarily as a joke. It sounded like it could have made for a real cool story, though I guess the premise doesn't really make a lot of sense.

::points meaningfully to penname:: Not my story but clearly one I merely came across and felt like pointing to. ::pokes:: You should totally review Irin's story, though.

And Serebii pretty much is the joke. I wonder what sort of responses it'll get?

Oh, sorry. I'm not very good with names, see.

Serious review or one in the spirit of the 'fic itself?

While I can't speak for Irin, god knows Serebii doesn't need any more vapid reviews. (We all know the game of "post something so absurd people will realize you're joking" can only end in tears.)

Done.

(We all know the game of "post something so absurd people will realize you're joking" can only end in tears.)

Ah, but tears of remorse, or tears of mirth?

Tears of dawning alienation as you realize you've wasted your time on all your past serious posts (http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=1140), much like spending hours trying to teach ants about the finer points of economic theory.

That is amazing. It's clever and funny in a way that's too unsettling to make you laugh and I love the way that the very first sentence sends you splashing into the middle of the weirdness.

Irin is clearly a genius. A bit passive aggressive, perhaps, but still a genius. Odd name, though. I think I read it in a book? Or maybe somewhere on the internet? It's from another very heebie-jeebie-ish story, IIRC. Heebie-jeebie-ish and also genius.

It's an interesting counterpoint, isn't it? My general bitching about OT fic is "if you've got the standard opening, for the love of god skip it, we already know how it goes", which means I'm always looking at it from the point of view that the solution is to remove it. But here Irin takes it up from a different direction, though of course it's anyone's guess how well it'll work out in the longer run.
