The main issue is that there's a lot of info I need to put in without having any sort of unifying plot. So she's listening to the news, but she's not doing much else. News stories are the sort of things you add in when your character is doing a bunch of other things, but she's pretty adrift and lacking any idea of what to do next. I've got a plotline/arc/stuff for after Zion Ben Judaic gives his speech, and there's a bunch of stuff I need to cram into the timeline before then, and, well, disorganized infodump fun. This is only worsened by the fact I'm typing this directly - normally my habit of notebook-to-computer serves a crucial filtering roll.
The chapter's preliminary title is Just Treading Water. Hey look double meaning!
(I'm doing well on NaNo, except most of the stuff I type up is for the books that have actual, what's the word, plots. Book Two is mostly about the failed mating habits of RTCs. Oh god how I wish I was kidding, no really that is most of the book. It doesn't really hold up next to demon locust that render people temporarily immortal, mostly incapacitated and in agonizing pain that drives them to bloody suicide attempts.)
