I'm amazed at the character development that you've placed within the story, the way Eon fights so hard for the sake of Pokémon and her dedication towards the cause of Pokémon rights. I have to admit, it's impressive, I knew that if I kept writing a review that started out as complimenting your writing style, well sure as shootin' you'd get hooked into reading it and then I'd be able to say this: GOOD LORD. I'm gonna be honest, writing styles are kind of like the "you are what you eat" deal, and you just went and gobbled down a big old sadist, didn't cha? Killing off a little kid in the forest, having all those Pokémon murder their trainers? And for what? JUSTICE?!

And then there's the OTHER side, humans ENSLAVING their Pokémon! Forcing them to obey!
I'm sorry if you feel that I'm being unfair, but at least I'm being honest. You can judge me if you want to, but there's a pattern in my work: the good guys always have at least one small edge that makes them stronger than the bad guys. In your story, I can't see the light. Sorry if that offends you, but I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

The worst thing you've done is "message rape". This is what happens when you take the idea behind an anime or game and just pervert the HELL out of it. Time and time again Ash, and most people in the Pokémon world, are shown to actually CARE about Pokémon, not just as "pets" but as actual friends and partners. Ash risks his life constantly to keep Pokémon from being endangered or hurt by evil humans, and the Pokémon themselves have said "Pokémon are only bad because master is bad". Meowth is an exception, but the reverse is true: HUMANS are generally good as well, showing love and concern for their Pokémon and for others.

The whole Pokémon anime is based off of the bonds of friendship and how an underdog (Ash) works together with his Pokémon to become truly great…and along the way he continuously helps others, going out of his way to do good. What you’ve done is taken the basic message of Pokémon and bastardized it. You raped the message. And several of the characters, Pikachu included.

It would be ONE thing if your work had some faint glimmer of "hope" in it. Some "light" that showed that ultimately, there was justice waiting for your creation Eon and that he'd be punished for the horrific cruelty that’s been perpetuated by Eon and the Pokémon, or that the humans and Pokémon will reach some form of true understanding, then it would alright…

But there seems to be little of that shown in any of your story here...and the worst part is you seem to REVEL in the brutality Eon and the Pokémon perform. Haven’t you ever heard of the Law of Human Nature? There’s a REASON why the great civilizations all agree on certain things like murder not being okay, not having any woman you like as a wife and that child molestation is just wrong.

A road that makes you enjoy the suffering of other people, regardless of who they are...THAT is a dark road to follow, Farla. A very, very dark road. You should be careful. I hope, if nothing else, this review makes you THINK. You have great talent for writing, but the way you use it seriously frightens me...

Oh my. It's really just all the sorts of "not getting it" PR inspires rolled into one and expanded on, isn't it? His comments about "light," especially, make me boggle. He thinks you'll be insulted by his saying he doesn't see any?

On a related note, what do you think of being called a "REAL Left Behind fan"? And Betty a likeable character. Yeesh. Also, I'm trying to figure out what side Forever in Hell is on.

You know, if they didn't write in fairly different styles and if he didn't have a bunch of stories on his profile I'd guess that Nick might be Alex Warlorn's sockpuppet or something.

"If one had noticed, the early episodes of Pokémon were of amazing quality. The rest of the series is just the results of his subconscious mind fulfilling his desires, as well as attempting to escape them. Should Ash realize he's in a coma, he would wake up, but suffer brain damage. So he has to take down all his mental barriers one by one until he can come to grips with what he is and escape his coma.

This explains why he doesn't change much physically. Also, the worldwide socialism can be explained if you once again realize that this is a dream world; he thought up a safe system of government that would run smoothly and keeps the world going allowing his adventures to work like they do. It also explains a few other things, such as how a child can go off on his own in a world full of dangerous untamed animals, and why every Pokémon center has the same exact nurse. Joy and Jenny he knew from his hometown, and they act as a safety net or anchor, allowing him to feel safe no matter where he goes. The professors, like the Joy's and Jenny's represent stability, and ash's ideals. This is why Gary became a professor. It's also the reason that every time he enters a new region, virtually no one has heard of him, despite his conquests, and why Giovanni leads Team Rocket. How could Paul, the rival of the Sinnoh area, not know of someone who has placed in at least the top 16 of all three leagues and has destroyed the Orange league and Battle Frontier?

Ash’s travelling partners are actually aspects of himself he can enjoy, but doesn't like to associate with himself. Team Rocket are his qualities that he deems "negative", but is coming to terms with. Jesse and James want to appease Giovanni, Ash's Father. Meowth especially wants to appease him because he remembers the good times with Giovanni. This Places meowth in a category known as ash's (corrupted) innocence, and another fragment of ash's humanity. If you note that meowth can speak this quickly becomes apparrent. In fact the whole reason for meowth's speech is so he can help Ash accept Team rocket as part of himself eventually.

Brock is Ash's repressed sexuality. He fell into the coma a virgin and needed an outlet for his growing sexual frustrations. Since he can never experience sex, Brock must never succeed. Brock is a projection of his sexuality, and is constantly shot down because Ash could never “know” sex. Brock isn't just Ash's latent sexuality, he's also his fatherly instincts, neither of which Ash can come to terms with. Brock leaves his siblings to "journey" with Ash. because Ash can't cope with having that much responsibility, much as his foray with a real relationship ends on mysterious terms. Ash just cannot handle commitment at his mental level. Brock's Stay with professor Ivy was an.attempt to outright suppress his sexuality. You'll notice that James got much more dialogue in this part of the series, as well as getting more touchy feel-y with his pokemon and getting most of his backstory. Ash didn't enjoy this much, hence the reasons Brock comes back all horrified, and refuses to speak about it. (ash's subconscious was repressing him at the time, so other than a general feeling of dread he has no idea of what went on then.) This is also why brock keeps coming back to the series....Usually AFTER Ash meets a new girl aspect of himself.Misty is an image that Ash had of a girl. This is why she plays so prevalently in the series but is ultimately unattainable because he never really knew her before the coma. Likely the one that helped get him to a hospital. I have a theory in line with this: Since Misty was his initial love interest (if only subconsciously), he needed her to reach a level of womanhood. He felt that people could only have relationships when they've matured. But in practice, it turned out he couldn't cope with it and just wanted the normal, pushy, arrogant Misty he knew, and

If you only read those two sentences, it looks like they aaaalmost understood the 'fic. It's like they picked up on the basic idea of the thing but then totally failed to realize that the lack of shiny happy good guys is actually the point, not

I spy another "I did it this way, so therefore that's the right way to do it!" argument. Honestly, not working with the cheesy friendship-happiness message of the anime--when will you open your eyes and learn you're doing it wrong, Farla?
