Thanks for all the advice. But here's some clarification. His mom didn't want
him to leave and was constantly trying to convince him to stay, that's why he
said it. He ran into the Scyther (capitalized! Deal with it!) because he was
in a hurry, the alley was dark, and I think you can assume he was looking
back. The knife WASN'T for self-defense, it was a memory of his father. So
freaking what if I put an intro in the beginning. Are you gonna complain to
the Pokemon Company for putting an intro in all of the games. Let people
effing write! How gives a dang about lampshade hanging. It is always
everywhere. And last, the plot line will be revealed as nothing like any other
Pokemon (Capitalized! GET OVER IT!) plot ever. Keep reading though. I know you
like it... ; )
