Hey everybody, meet pokemongirl2523, writer of a story 'titled' the story of DOOM ("Title has nothing to do with the story. I couldn't think of one, so that ended up being the title.") The rest of the summary is It's about a girl and her Vulpix, when girls were not allowed to have pokemon, let alone battle them. Folow their adventures inside!.

I reviewed, and today there's a response in the second chapter. For some reason, I have a hard time taking it seriously. Something about it just smacks of troll.

AN: Now, I will answer to one of my reviewers, who decided to give me the longest lecture about writing a fan fiction I’ve ever seen.

Karla: Boy, didn’t anyone tell you not to read something if you don’t like it? You could’ve looked at it, said “This is bad, I don’t want to read it,” instead of giving me a long lecture. I mean, yes, I made a couple mistakes, but everyone does! I’m sure you do too, unless you’re God. Which you aren’t. And so I capitalized where I wasn’t supposed to. So what? I’m sorry the gender kept switching, I’ll fix it in this chapter, not that you’ll care. You’ll find something to lecture me about anyways. I’m sooo sorry that she thinks out loud. She just does. And I’m sorry that I couldn’t think up a better plot. I like it the way I did it. I realize that I made a mistake about the pokeball belt, and I’m sorry, I’ll watch out for things like that later on. The professor obviously believes in women’s rights, and the Vulpix was abandoned. I declare that now. Why would he need pokemon? I mean, it’s not like people come up to him every day, asking for pokemon, do they? And what did you expect her to do to be prepared, get plastic surgery? Yeah, right. It’s not like there was anything else she could do! I’m sorry, but I’m not the best at narration and describing. That’s the way I am. Thank you and good bye.

Flaming of the name Karla is intentional. Unless you’re that jerk that gave me the lecture, no offense. None at all.

Hah, oh man, I just reviewed her in disgust before perusing the livejournals... I feel a little silly for feeding the troll now, but the stupidity is somewhat amusing. xD

By the way, are you surprised that Zanna Taru turned out to be a filthy plagiarizer? Just changed all the names. Depressingly, after skimming through the original 'fic, which the author just uploaded, her plagiarized version was a little better than the original. The original names make me want to gouge out my eyes. x_X It, of course, begs the question--why do people plagiarize crap?

I heard about it a few days ago, and I'm still really surprised. You'd think with all the screeching and wailing about how Zara's not a mary sue, and she's writing this for herself, and how she's adding in this and that to satisfy the readers...I'm somewhat creeped out, honestly.

As to why they plagiarize crap - I remember someone a while ago pointing out how plagiarizers were stupid and usually copied really well-known author's stories, so they wound up getting caught almost immediately. Maybe Zanna Taru was smarter than we give her credit for. She managed to finish posting the story and get 90 reviews before any response.

You know, I read a bit of it earlier, but I couldn't quite tell what to make of it. I mean, with a title that and a story that looks very much like an actual attempt at a fanfiction (by most authors on FFNet), I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be horrible or what.

So, basically, I'm just as confused as you are.

Are teenaged girls really that hard to tell apart from teenaged boys, by the way? It seems to me that no one can tell this Julie character isn't a boy. I would have figured it out with just the name "Jules."

I'm wincing at the fact that she has a Vulpix as a starter, though.

Other than that, the fact that she called you "Karla" amuses me. After all, the K isn't that close to the F. I'm half-tempted to leave a signed review myself, just to see how she'd screw up my username.

I don't even get the point of changing my name - I mean, if you're trying to insult someone, you *don't* want to try to protect their identity at all. You want to advertise it as much as possible so it'll stick in people's heads, and then when they see a story by me they'll remember.

I'm intending to email her soon...probably politely. When I'm circling before going in for the kill, I like to be polite.

To your point about insulting others: Exactly.

On the other hand, it's almost like MAD-style flaming. It's obvious who she's talking about, and that might have been part of her intention. I must admit, though, that the method was much more effective when the magazine changed Ash's name to "Ass."

I don't know. I mean, plenty of people don't know me and I'm sure some of those people probably won't bother to check the reviews, and surely those would be her preferred target audiance. I've seen a lot of readers answer back to reviewers without ever actually reading the reviews. Picture this - her loyal reader immediately copies 'karla' into the address bar and heads off to flame, not needing to read the review because obviously I'm just a jerk.

Plus, she didn't even change it into something actually insulting, like calling her poopgirl2523 or something lame like that.

Why are the people mad at me always so lame and pathetic?

I noticed that. I was about to concrit the story when I checked the reviews and saw you had already done so and I didn't feel like adding anything to it. I missed the blatant reaction to your 'lecture' though.

It's sad how people can mistake concrit for an insult, I'm sure if you meant to be rude you'd do a much better job at it.

What's sadder is if you corner these people and badger them enough, you can usually drag out of them the fact that they knew what you said wasn't an insult, and that it was right, but that it hurt their feelings because you were harsh by pointing out things that were wrong. Sometimes they'll even admit that they normally ignore 'this sux' sort of flames, but that having what they did wrong explained was a lot worse.

Then I attempt to kill them and they run away in fear, so I don't know any more than that.
