Mar. 24th, 2013 05:42 pmI'm fond of the imageboard quests. One of the unexpected things about how it's developed is they regularly pick female protagonists, which isn't what you'd initially expect from that community. On the downside, the same impulses are producing stuff like this Nice Guy adventure. I think it's a combination of problems that added up disastrously - the initial opening has the character as evil, so anything nice at the time seems comparatively good, for related reasons the author doesn't seem to be keeping a handle on their behavior, there's a focus on gaining loyalty and it's objectively shown, so there's immediate feedback about how well things people suggest work... But really, it comes down to players saying "I think women work like this, yes?" and the one running it replying "yes, I think women work like this" which would have gone badly even before adding in that it's a story revolving around magical enslavement.
Well, off to today's fanfic. It should be comparatively awesome.
