Story - Decades
Nov. 21st, 2005 05:33 pmPosted Decades, one of the prewritten one-shots mentioned in the last entry. It's about a rattata who gets captured.
...I'm going to get comments about how you totally agree all trainers are evil, aren't I? You have no idea how frustrated I get by those.
Anyway, the story idea is actually a really old one I've had for years, and the story itself, come to think of it, was written in the first couple weeks of last summer. Years ago I read a fanfic about a young boy getting his family's pokemon from his mother. It was unfinished at the time and I never read it again, but one line from it stuck with me for years and probably the only reason even remember the rest of it is that one little line.
Oftentimes, authors write things without fully considering the implications, and, for whatever reason, the Pokemon fandom seems particularly vulnerable to this happening. It's odd sometimes to read a line and realize that what the author has inadvertantly created something far worse than they ever thought of.

Date: 2005-11-22 09:08 pm (UTC)Um. I've personally never thought about how time passes for a pokemon... I've all ways sort of envisioned something kind of vague... the mind is there but the body isn't. And if the body isn't there, well, how can it age?
Thought provoking, like so much of your work.
And trainers aren't evil. They're ten years old, and as I've stated, don't have their own opinions so they follow the majority, which follows the big companies that have been around since pokemon training started, it would seem, and THOSE companies are evil.
Yup.
