Chapter Eight of Ice

Chapter Eight, Trial Run, of Ice is up.

Yes, I know I took forever. This chapter was a bitch to write, mainly because I realized I have no idea how Team Rocket functions. I also had problems referring to the different kids, as the child ignores names and although she'd be able to follow a 'other kid', 'other other kid' and 'other other other kid' naming system, I think you guys might kill me for it.

This is also maybe the fifth or sixth rewrite of the chapter. Among other things, the child takes a much less active role than in previous versions.

What did she do in your first draft of that chapter?

...well, besides asking "Where are we going?" at various times over a few hours despite threats to shut up, in the first draft, she kills the boy because she doesn't want to go to the jennies. I meant it to emphasize that what she considers important is different than others, but it really didn't make sense - she wouldn't annoy someone in a group and she definitely wouldn't risk getting hurt when she could just escape.
